How a run works

One keyword, a SERP sample, a ranked list of guesses

The tool fetches the current results for your keyword in one of eight countries, reads the ranking pages, and looks for on-page patterns that track with position. Optional target URL grades your page against that sample.

What you will not get

Honest limits of a short SERP sample

Google does not publish a scoring function, and a couple of dozen URLs cannot reverse-engineer one. Off-page signals, brand, links, and history are out of scope on the free tool. Use the report to decide what to try, then measure.

  • Not backlinks, brand, or paid Semrush layers
  • Same keyword + country within 24 hours returns the cached run

If two ranking pages both use a pattern, the tool will surface it. That does not mean Google rewards the pattern. Treat every row as a test to run, not a rule to obey.
